Purgatory (and the joys of being a mother on school holidays)

Here are some initial snaps of Purgatory by ILNP. You’ll notice I haven’t finished cleaning up in them yet but wanted to see how it looked inshade and sun. It seemed to be in that really close to black but not quite space… and I thought I might struggle to capture the teal shimmer.

The sun is definitely the best for showing that it has a lovely blue green shimmer but it will look basically black in normal light. I’m not huge on those polishes – I like my blacks black, and jewel tones as jewel tones.

Anyway next thing I was called away on urgent mum on school holiday business, disconnecting lego pieces, opening paint bottles and finding pieces of marble run. So I didn’t get to clean up straight away …. and you can probably see where this is going,

Close up shot of my torn ring finger. Anyway, nails grow (*sob*) as do children and before I know it they won’t need me so I just try to remain zen. Saying that I’m getting very very excited about school going back in two weeks. The last weeks of the holidays are a kind of purgatory of their own I guess!

Absolute Zero by I Love Nail Polish

Image

One of the colours I have always wanted to get a high end of is a nice dark blue like Chanel Blue Satin or Illamasqua Phallic. Never quite made it onto the must by list so I’ve been making do with a very nice Essence dupe called Hard to Resist and Nubar Navy Blue. Still I was delighted when I scored the free navy blue polish absolute zero from I Love Nail Polish from the pre order. The colour is lovely and then as an added treat there is a scattered holo in the sunshine.

On the down side the wear is pretty fast, this is 24 hours later and includes a top coat. But it is a delightful color and I’m really happy to own it!

Birefrigence Holo by I Love Nail Polish (ILNP)

This is one of the new holo multichromes by I Love Nail Polish. It’s got a blue-indigo-purple-red-gold shift which is just amazing. The holo adds a nice sparkle just at the colour shift in low light and is intensively, well, holographic in all colours in full light. The colour shift is so noticeable that even my husband was impressive at my ‘fancy’ polish.

Look at the range of colour on my thumb as I’m driving. Isn’t it awesome!

Anyway, as you can see this is a spectacular polish. It’s really unusual and intensively coloured and holographic. They aren’t cheap but you won’t see them on every second person so it’s a fun polish to own. The wear is OK – I started getting serious tip wear on day 2 on one nail, but not that much on the other nail yet so I think I’ll probably get 3-4 days out of it.
