This is a base coat of OPI Roll in the Hague, with an topper of Ulta3 Stop the Press on pinky and middle finger, and a black cat decal on the ring finger. I got my black cat sticker from a cheapie $1 ebay scary pack of nail decals.
Roll in the Hague is bright red-orange color, a really typical Dutch orange that you see whenever the dutch sports teams are out playing!! It applied like a dream – could have been a one coater but the second coat definitely deepened the colour. It’s also worn really well, this is about three days in and I have no noticable wear.
Making any SPOOKY plans yet?
The Catrice polish is a bronze-y orange foil shimmer. It’s a little sheer again needing 3-4 coats but is a lovely colour for the start of autumn. The brush is really easy to use again gives a smooth finish to the polish. Overall it’s a very smooth self leveling polish for a foil.
I topped with China Glaze Gold Digger just to cover up some tip wear from day 3 onwards but this was the extent of the wear until I got bored after 5-6 days in 🙂
I have previously been …. less than flattering about Revlon polishes. I just got some Revlon top coat as I’m out of Poshe and I tried it with Get Reddy. Its actually been surprisingly good at maintaining my manicure for the week they claim! I may have to eat my words 😦 Get Reddy is an really nice orange-y red with a warm shimmer. Its a good summer red for me, as it has a bit of warmth but doesn’t turn my skin tone in lobster paws.
After 5 days or so I was bored and had some tip wear so I put on some glitter tips with China Glaze Electrify (gold and orange glitter). The effect was awesome, the red and gold and orange looked like flames in the sun. Of course trying to get my camera to capture that sort of action was not so easy. The shot below is inside lighting in my kitchen but I still love it.
This is from the previous Hunger Games nail polish collection by China Glaze. It’s a gold and orange glitter & is amazing… its exactly what Katniss would have been wearing when she came in as the girl of fire, it looks like embers in a fire. I think it would great over red or black bases.
This is another gift with purchase polish from a few years back when they were really pushing coral as the color of the season. It is a pink leaning polish in the bottle but seems to go a lot more orange leaning on my hand. It is a lovely juicy type of jelly, but unfortunately 12 hours after application I had two nails of nail polish come off entirely 😦 (and that’s with CND base coat and poshe top coat) Some thing in this polish does just not agree with my hands.
I’ve lusted after the OPI Burlesque collection for a while, combining as it does my loves of Burlesque and nail polish. I went and got a manicure at a proper salon today with a friend and noticed they had a bottle of Extra-va-vanganza – a predominantly orange/gold based glitter bomb with lots of depth and sparkle. Mmmmmmm.
